Seeds for Ukraine is a humanitarian initiative as a response to a full-scale Russian invasion in Ukraine. We aim to support rural communities affected by the war.
We provide vegetable seeds for families and private households, establish greenhouses for the recovered schools, and advocate for saving soil.
Started in March 2022. Based in Kyiv.
The Russian military aggression brought destruction and grief. For rural communities, it means ruined infrastructure, burned fields, looted farms, mined territories, a damaged environment, and soil. Logistic chains still do not work properly for most of the affected zones, which impacts economic and sometimes even local food security. And the private households are the most vulnerable group.
Our purpose is to bring hope and strengthen resilience by sending the seeds that will help to grow food and sustain local communities, providing children in schools with greenhouses and help them go through the mental challenges of the war, advocating for the health of the soil, and supporting local regenerative initiatives.
We are focusing on establishing international partnerships and helping people globally to support people in rural Ukraine directly. The movement unites donors, volunteers, foundations, government institutions and local communities. And you are welcome to join.
